Help Desk Analyst

Stewart & Stevenson Canada Inc. was incorporated in Houston, Texas in 1902. Our diversified product offerings include equipment for well stimulation, well work over and service, drilling, coiled tubing, cementing, nitrogen pumping, power generation and electrical systems, as well as engines, transmissions and materials handling equipment. NATURE AND SCOPE:

 

Reporting to the IT Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the end user support of a Windows based client/server network. The Helpdesk Analyst will ensure all user requests are responded to and resolved in a timely and courteous manner. In this role, you will utilize considerable independent judgment to resolve problems and make recommendations. You will be required to prioritize calls and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. There are no direct reports to this position.   

 

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

  • Fostering a team environment with other IT staff and working closely with the employees to ensure all Stewart & Stevenson Canada equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Keeping abreast with advances made in technology and recommending/implementing changes that would improve performance and security of the network and workstations.
  • Maintenance of all copiers, printers and fax machines.
  • Installation/deployment and repair of workstations.
  • Assist the Systems Analyst with training and support on all custom software that is developed.
  • Utilize Helpdesk Administration Software to log problems, requests, issues, concerns and errors reported to Helpdesk Support.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all hardware and software.
  • Prioritizing tasks and projects and delivering quality work.
  • Alternating on-call support after hours.
  • Other related duties. 

 

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science.
  • Knowledge and interest in the computer field.

  • Must be able to communicate well within the company.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
